We here at 26Screenplays.com are huge fans of the Creative Commons initiative – universal access to research, education, and culture. The screenplays in my book are released under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 license and exist to have derivative works–your films–created from them.

We applied for a Creative Commons Catalyst Grant. We think this project (royalty-free short film screenplays) aligns with the larger goals of Creative Commons.

If you believe in the Creative Commons initiative and would like to contribute towards future grants, I strongly encourage you to donate to the global Creative Commons network and contribute until your heart is content.

We will certainly keep everyone posted, and if we get the grant, you will see a lot more activity here and on the website.

UPDATE: Well, we didn’t win. But we’re still going strong! Plenty of new stuff on the blog. And I’m writing new screenplays for the next book.
